M S Bitta Invited by the people of Etah

ETAH: Disheartened with the absence of rail connectivity of the district with other major destinations of the country, hundreds of locals of Etah
held a peaceful demonstration at the Etah railway station on Monday.
Although a big garlic producer, Etah has only one railway line and one passenger train that links it with Tundla, 74 km away. It takes four hours to reach Tundla and the train runs only thrice a week while a bus takes only 75 minutes to cover the same distance thus, making the train service practically of no use, said Neeraj Gupta, chairman of Lakshya, a social organization which is part of the agitation.
M S Bitta, chairman anti-terrorist front, former president, All India Youth Congress, who was invited by the people of Etah, termed the non-linking of the district with other parts of the country as its biggest problem. He assured the people that he will take up the matter with the railway minister, Mamta Banerjee. He also expressed the hope that in the next two to three years, Etah will have a railway line extended upto Aligarh and Kasganj.
"We have met both the president and the prime minister in this regard. Also, we had met the then railway minister, Lalu Yadav, regarding the extension of rail line in Etah to Aligarh and Kasganj but his assurance proved to be an empty one. We now look forward to the present railway minister, Mamata Banerjee to pay heed to our demand," said Manoj Gupta, a local adding that Etah's progress has stopped because of its non-connectivity.
Meanwhile, Collectorate Bar Association of Etah went on a day's strike as a mark of protest against the same issue. [...]
